Global Air Cargo Buzz

Global air cargo experts shared some gems of wisdom today.

They interacted at the 24th International Air Cargo Forum and Exposition organized by The International Air Cargo Association(TIACA) at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.

The exposition packed in more than 100 leading air cargo operators, airports, aircraft manufacturer and aviation services companies worldwide.

It was an honour for me to listen to renowned experts on airport and air cargo security, screening and intelligence.

I toured the bustling trade fair and collected some memorabilia at booths managed by United Cargo,Bahrain International Airport,Manchester Airport, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, U S Airways, AVAPartner cargo Services,Frankfurt-Hahn Airport, NanJing LuKou International Airport,Xiamen Uni Logistics. and Emirates SkyCargo.

I also befriended Larry Coyne MBA,CEO of Coyne Airways Limited;Tom Wheelwright,Senior Vice President, Public Policy - Asia Pacific of DHL; Davy Lu, Vice President Sales and Marketing of WellResources Aviation Consulting Company Limited; Michelle Dempsey, Director of Operations of TIACA; Mike Stewart, Commercial Director of WFS and Rick Fall, General Manager Pacific of United Cargo.

I understand that SPEED,COST AND RELIABILITY constitute the key success factors for competitive advantage in the intensely competitive global air cargo business today.

Post 9/11 and Global Financial Tsunami, major air cargo players are networking, forming new alliances and outsourcing to stay ahead of the competition,

Tom Wheelwright of DHL, a former Australian politician and key adviser in ex-Premier Paul Keating cabinet, shared the vital contributions of air cargo industry, stressing on fast traffic growth totalling 30 million shipments everyday across the globe.
